Many of us here at LNE Consulting have been known to enjoy one or two three or four cups of coffee throughout the day. And if you’re like us, you may even have gotten some flack over your impending addiction from your friends, family, or coworkers. But coffee lovers, rejoiceit turns out that indulging in a reasonable amount of coffee each day is actually pretty good for you! Don’t believe us? We’ve rounded up a list of 6 of coffee’s best health benefits.

1. Increases your energy levels

You may have already noticed the little jolt of energy that comes when you drink a cup of coffee. This effect is because caffeine boosts your levels of norepinephrine and dopamine, providing you with that burst of energy.

2. Improves physical performance

Not only does caffeine increase your adrenaline levels, but it also causes fat tissue to release fatty acids, fueling your body and improving your physical performance—making it the perfect pre-workout beverage!

3. Contains important nutrients

One cup of coffee contains Vitamins B2 and B5, Manganese, Potassium, Magnesium, and Niacin. If that one cup turns into four, coffee can supply a surprising amount of your recommended daily nutrient intake.

4. Source of fiber

A cup of brewed coffee can contain up to 1.8 grams of fiber, approximately 6% of the 30 grams daily recommended for the average adult. Fiber helps normalize bowel movements, lowers cholesterol levels, helps control blood sugar levels, and can even help you achieve a healthy weight.

5. Full of antioxidants

Coffee contains large amounts of several important antioxidants, including hydrocinnamic acids and polyphenols. If you’re a regular coffee drinker, coffee can fulfill a substantial portion of your daily antioxidant needs!

6. Lowers the risk of several diseases

Multiple studies have shown that people who regularly drink coffee have a much lower risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, and Parkinson’s disease.

So don’t be afraid to pour that second cup, just be sure to limit yourself to the recommended daily amount: about 4 cups of coffee for the average adult.
