5 Ways to Thank Clients and Coworkers This Thanksgiving [LIST]

We love Thanksgiving here at LNE Consulting (Hollywood, FL)! It is a time for appreciating all that we have and all of the wonderful things that our clients and employees do for us. Giving thanks is an important thing to do because it reminds the people that you care about why they are so special to you.

In an age of rapidly increasing technology, personal displays of appreciation are diminishing through clicks and links, which can really take the meaning out of meaningful interactions. Here are 5 ways that you can thank your clients and coworkers this Thanksgiving!

1.  Handwritten Notes

We love in-person communication at LNE Consulting, but sometimes that isn’t always possible!

If there is anything that has been forgotten in this fast-moving society we live in – it’s handwritten letters! What’s actually great about this, though, is that writing someone a letter by hand has become a sincere display of appreciation. Sending a text message or a copy-and-pasted generic email is easy, and therefore has less meaning. Make sure to pull out a pad and paper and wish your customers and coworkers a Happy Thanksgiving, while including some reasons why you appreciate them!

Make sure to pull out a pad and paper and wish your customers and co-workers a Happy Thanksgiving. Don’t forget to include a few reasons why you appreciate them!

2. Get Specific

Don’t be generic with your ‘thank you’ greetings! Thank that employee for staying late all week to work on that project. Let that client know how much you appreciated that referral they gave you last month. Make sure to be as specific as possible and it will make the recipient feel important and thankful for you as well — an ongoing cycle of admiration!

3. Add a Gift

If you really want to go above and beyond this Thanksgiving, add a little gift to show how thankful you really are! It does not have to be expensive to be impactful. Going the extra mile and showing the recipient that you care enough to buy a little something for them will mean the world!

4. Make it Personal

If your client is located in the Northeast, tell them that you hope they are enjoying the fall weather. Even beter, why not wish your client’s children good wishes by name? I hope Billy and Sally enjoy the Tofurkey! Maybe even check out the Thanksgiving Day football schedule and wish your client’s team good luck! Remembering and acknowledging small details are key to showing people that you care, which is a small facet of the relationship-building strategy we have at LNE Consulting.

5. Include a Recipe

This adds some more spice — pun intended — to the personal effect of your gratitude. Along with the other thankful, personal, and specific things that you say to your client or coworker – send them a little recipe to make for their family’s feast!

If you have a famous stuffing recipe that kills on Thanksgiving, don’t be afraid to share the secret with the person to whom you’re giving thanks! It’s personal touches like this that keep clients and employees engaged and excited to be involved with you!

5 Things You Can Do to Make Your Mornings Easier [LIST]

Mornings can be rough, can’t they? At LNE Consulting, we understand the importance of not being stressed out and rushed before you head out to a full and productive day of work. We put together a list of five things you can do to ease your morning routines, reduce stress and make mornings much more enjoyable.

1. Make your lunch the night before. You may be tired and would really rather leave it until morning, but you’ll thank yourself in the morning when all you have to do is grab your lunch and head to work instead of waking up earlier to make it.

2. Set multiple alarms, earlier than you need to be awake. This way you’ll gradually start to be aware that you need to wake up soon, and you’ll also be able to reward yourself when you can sleep in an extra 10 minutes before you actually need to wake up!

3. Lay out your clothes the day before. Don’t waste time in the morning trying to find the perfect tie or that left sock – if you look ahead of time then all you have to do in the morning is wake up and get dressed. Dressed for success, always.

4. Turn on the coffee machine while you’re in the shower, this way the moment you’re out you can indulge in a wake me up and continue getting ready without having to wait for the coffee to brew.

5. Always put your car keys back in the same spot to ensure that you’re not scrambling around come morning. Routines are the best way to ensure that you don’t lose or forget important things and car keys are especially important.

Hopefully, these things will help to ease the rush and stress of the morning before work. LNE Consulting understands that coming into work after a morning where everything went wrong can be especially difficult, but we commend you for doing it because the work wouldn’t get done without you and the sacrifices that we all make to do the things we love.

From all of us at LNE Consulting we hope you have stress-free mornings and productive work weeks!

6 Tips for Tackling Time Management

LNE Consulting shares a list of their favorite time management tips.

No matter what career you’re pursuing, chances are that you’ve struggled with time management at least once or twice. Billy Joel said it best in “Vienna,” “You’ve got so much to do and only so many hours in a day.” As with all skills, mastering time management is a process of determining the tactics that work best for you—and then practicing until you perfect them! That’s why the LNE Consulting team has put together a list of 6 of our favorite techniques for making the most out of the work day, try them out!

1. Get a good night’s sleep

The average adult needs 7-8 hours of sleep each night. It’s impossible for your body to operate at peak performance when it isn’t getting the rest that it needs. Taking the time to recharge physically and mentally is essential before a busy day!

2. Avoid multitasking

While you may feel like you’re getting more done by juggling multiple tasks at once, the truth is that multitasking is most likely slowing you down. Try to focus on one thing at a time and devote your full attention to completing the task at hand before you begin another.

3. Prioritize!

This may seem like an obvious one, but it can be tempting to try and to finish quick, menial assignments first in order to gain a sense of accomplishment. Completing the most important two or three items on your to-do list first will prevent you from feeling rushed or stressed as deadlines approach, and ensure that you have enough time to do them well.

4. Start your day early

While you may not love the idea of losing sleep, getting up just an hour early each day gives you 365 more hours each year to get work done! Just make sure that you’re going to bed an hour earlier too in order to still get those 7-8 hours of sleep each night

5. Set a time limit for each task

If perfectionism or extreme attention to detail is slowing you down, try setting a timer to increase your sense of urgency for the task. Try to finish the entire job in the allotted time, and then allow yourself to go back and make revisions after.

6. Break down large projects

Sometimes the thought of starting a big project can seem daunting, and may even cause to procrastinate and put off getting to work on it. Try splitting up larger projects into a series of smaller tasks. Each time you complete a smaller task, you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment, giving you the motivation to finish the rest!

5 Fun Facts About Halloween

October is here and we know what that means! One of our favorite holidays at LNE Consulting, Halloween, is quickly approaching!

But how much do you really know about Halloween or Hallow’s Eve as it is sometimes called? Check out the list below of 5 fun facts about the holiday that you may never have heard before!

  1. Halloween is actually believed to have Irish origins. They have a holiday called “Samhain,” which is a festival of the dead. Dia de Los Muertos is also a popular day in the Hispanic culture which is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd.
  2. Trick-or-treating used to be much more involved. For instance, you used to have to dance for your candy, or actually beg. Also, it was very common for tricksters to play jokes on the people they were begging from — and some could be quite mean spirited!

  3. Jack-o-lanterns, which were traditionally created to scare away the evil spirits, used to be made out of more than just pumpkins. People used to carve beets, potatoes, and radishes as well! Perhaps not quite as large or scary as a pumpkin, though!
  4. Halloween is sometimes referred to as Hallow’s Eve because the next day, November 1st, is called “All Saints Day,” which is a day dedicated to the saints of the Catholic church. It is also, as previously mentioned, Dia de Los Muertos in Mexico.
  5. In Rome, they used to celebrate a festival called “Pomona,” which celebrated the goddess of the harvest. This festival was thrown around the same time as Halloween is celebrated now, and we have adopted some of their celebration activities, like bobbing for apples!

Can you see why Halloween is such a fun holiday? The holiday is a combination of so many different cultures and fun events. LNE Consulting’s favorite part is definitely the fun costumes. From all of us at LNE Consulting, we hope you have a fantastic Halloween and see lots of fun costumes. Follow us on Instagram to check out what we’re doing for Halloween.

5 Podcasts That Will Get You Excited For Your Morning Commute [LIST]

At LNE Consulting (Hollywood, FL), we know how unpredictable traffic can be, especially if you have a long commute to work. The radio can be repetitive and frustrating at times, especially when you’re aiming to prepare your brain for a productive day of work. Podcasts are revolutionizing the daily commute – offering compelling stories and hours of intelligent and informative entertainment. The best part? They are free and available right on your smartphone!

Here are 5 captivating podcasts recommended by LNE Consulting that will make your drive to work more enjoyable!

Screen Shot 2017-06-08 at 11.56.28 AM1. S-Town is an enthralling 7 part series that focuses on the life of an antique clock restorer named John B. Macklemore. Sounds boring, right? Well, he turns out to be one of the most intriguing and intelligent people on the planet — with secrets, conflict, and twists galore.

Screen Shot 2017-06-08 at 12.01.40 PM2. For those who are intrigued by the supernatural, The Black Tapes is the best thing going! An open-minded reporter, Alex Reagan, investigates ghosts, apparitions, and spirits while exploring the evidence of hauntings around the world. The Co-star, Dr. Richard Strand, is a nonbeliever who relies solely on science and tangible, proven evidence – almost always dismissing supernatural experiences as a hoax. Unlike S-Town, The Black Tapes is fictional; however, that opens up a lot of room for a gripping and tremendously spooky story. This podcast will make traffic breeze by, whether you’re on your way to LNE Consulting or running errands!

3. Crimetown takes you to 70’s and 80’s Providence, Rhode Island, where crime and corruption were all the norm in the political system. The studio is planning on working on a new area, new crime, and new story every season – but so far, season one is the only collection that has been published. Season one is a fascinating look into the political career of Vincent “Buddy” Cianci, the mayor of Providence from 1974-1984. The story documents his infamous political career, as well as his connection to the mafia, with real interviews from ex-mob members and people in Buddy’s circle.

4. The Nerdist Podcast, hosted by the geeky, charming, and well-spoken Chris Hardwick, is a wonderful way to hear the thoughts and opinions of famous and successful people in an informal setting. Essentially, each episode is an hour or so long interview with a stirring guest. However, like most interviews, it does not sound like a press release. The guests are completely open and engaged, answering brilliant, yet casual questions from Chris. It’s like sitting in on a conversation between two buddies! His guests have included Jake Gyllenhaal, J.J. Abrams, Keanu Reeves, and even Bill Gates!

5. History buffs unite! Check out Hardcore History. “I don’t care about three years ago… I don’t care about two years ago. I don’t care about last year. The only things I care about is this week.” – Tom Brady

Tom Brady, the 5 Time Superbowl Champion, lives, breathes and plays with an urgent sense of hard work. He maintains an immaculate diet, practices as much as possible, and has shattered records throughout his career. Champions do not dwell on the past – it is a powerful mindset that is a prerequisite for success and one that we promote here at LNE Consulting.

“You know, I never looked down the road and said, ‘Hey look, one day, the Hall of Fame.’ It’s always about playing each and every game 100 percent and I thank my teammates for getting me into the Hall because football is a team sport, not an individual sport” – Jerry Rice

The NFL Hall of Famer holds multiple records in the NFL while being selected for the Pro Bowl 13 times and named All-Pro 12 times. Rice’s 20 years in the NFL were impressive ones; however one of the reasons that he was so successful was because he was attentive and in the moment. It is not intelligent to dwell on the past, but it also important to remember to stay in the moment and not worry about the future. Always give 100% in the moment and the future will be taken care of.

“Success isn’t owned. It’s leased – and rent is due every day.” – JJ Watt

JJ Watt, who is a defensive weapon for the Houston Texans, is a powerhouse player who has set NFL records and played through injuries to prove doubters wrong. He understands that success is not a one-time deal that is over and done with – that’s why you need to stay consistent and work hard every single day. We operate on that belief daily here at LNE Consulting.
